MEET THE ARTISTS
At OPAL we carry the work of multiple artists in our gallery. Here are some of the artists we currently have on display.
Goldsmith
Nina Turczyn
Nina was introduced to a merging of design and craft by her architect father and silversmith mother at an early age, and has had a lifetime of absorbing a deep knowledge and understanding of the art of silversmithing, which she approaches with the sensibility of a designer.
In 2005, Nina graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a degree in design and headed to the West Coast where she started Paprika; a freelance graphic design business on Gabriola Island. Her love for beautiful craftsmanship and art led her to follow in her mother's footsteps and begin a career in jewellery.

Métis Artist
Three Sisters by Emma
Beading connects me with my Métis culture. I feel attuned with the land and my histories more when I am weaving their stories through beading. Many of my designs make use of geometric patterns of arrows and triangles reminiscent of the Métis sash. The patterns, colours, and names that take form in my earrings are also inspired by my love of the land. I am especially inspired by the lands that I have lived on. I currently live in Vancouver, on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh territory. I grew up in Saskatoon, Treaty 6 and the Metis Homelands. These two vastly different landscapes can be seen interwoven in my pieces.
Indigenous Entrepreneur
Salina Morse
I am Anishinaabe (bear clan) and Ukrainian, and a member of Lake St. Martin First Nation. Growing up on Treaty 2 land in St. Martin, Manitoba and spending so much time outdoors, I've always had a deep love and connection with nature, animals, and spirit. Ever since I was a little girl I was drawn to the mountains and ocean, and finally moved out to Vancouver in 2010, and into the Fraser Valley in 2021.

I spent the majority of those years working in mental health and addiction; supporting folks in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. That's also when I really began my own journey of healing from addiction and trauma - learning how to connect to my spirit again, and how essential self-care/love is to our entire well-being.
Designer / Jeweller
Sheena Purcell
Sheena Jewellery is created in Montreal, Canada by designer jeweller Sheena Purcell. Her designs are minimal yet stunning, incorporating antique lace, rough gold textures and fine gem stones. If you are looking for custom wedding jewelry look no further, meeting with clients and bringing their unique designs to life is an honor Sheena takes very seriously.

After studying jewellery design and metalsmithing at NSCAD university then living in Japan for several years, Sheena found herself drawn to the intricacies of lace and textiles she found in antique markets around the world. After returning to Canada to start her jewellery business full time she started experimenting with casting lace in silver and gold to create the lace jewellery collection she currently sells online and in select boutiques.

She lives in Montreal and is a mother to three boys.
